[N] 2006 Dashanpusaurus dongi
A new camarasaurid from the Middle Jurassic, Xiashaximiao Formation in Dashanpu, China is described in Peng, G.; Ye, Y.; Gao, Y.; Shu, C. & Jiang, S. (2005): Jurassic Dinosaur Faunas in Zigong. Sichuan People\\\\\\\'s Publishing House, Zigong. The only place in the world where this publication is for sale is at the Zigong Dinosaur Museum.
Dashanpusaurus dongi is named after the township \\\\\\\"Dashanpu\\\\\\\" where the specimen was unearted, the specific name refers to Prof. Dong Zhiming, a distinguished Chinese dinosauroligist for his important contributions to the excavation, preservation and study of the Dashanpu Dinosaur Quarry.
The holotype consist out of an incomplete skeleton including 6 cervicals, 12 dorsals, 4 sacrals, 33 caudals, left ulna, pelvic girdle and hindlimb ZDM 5028 (Field no: I-K). tha paratype consist out of an incomplete skeleton including 12 dorsals, some ribs, left pectoral girdle, left humerus and radius.
