Genus - Typespecies
Named for small ornithopod teeth with vertical grooves.
Fist described as member of the Hypsilophodontidae, Sereno, (1991) regarded A. kuehnei as Ornithischia Incertae Sedis. The type specimen of A.kuehnei although similar to ornithopods resembles more the teeth of Ankylosaur, Ruiz-Omenaca (2001) pointed out contrary to the condition in Hypsilophodontids some of the teeth of Alocodon do not posses singulum and some appear not tho have denticles. Glut (2003) regarding a personal comunication by X. Pereda-Superbiola assigned A. kuehnei to Thyreophora indet.
