Genus - Typespecies - Skull

First described as a basal Iguanodontian, Laurent, Le Loeuff and Buffetaut (1997) referred Pararhabdodon isonensis to the Lambeosaurinae, Casanovas, Pereda Superbolia, Santafé and Weishampel (1999) found Parahabdodon to be a basal member of the Lambeosaurinae, Head (2001) found it more likely that Pararhabdodon could be basal with respect to both Hadrosauridae and Lambeosaurinae. According to Prieto-Marquez et al., 2006 Pararhabdodon is not a lambeosaurine, but close to the base of Hadrosauridae
