Piveteausaurus (Taquet & Welles, 1977) > Piveteausaurus divesensis (Walker, 1964) = Eustreptospondylus divesinsis (Walker, 1964)
A braincase from the marine upper Callovian of Vaches Noir, France is the type specimen of the single species Piveteausaurus divesensis ( = Eustreptospondylus divesinsis Walker, 1964).
It is the size of that of an adult Allosaurus fragilis. Taquet and Welles, 1977 list the points in which it differs from Allosaurus fragilis, Ceratosaurus nasicornis, and Eustreptospondylus oxoniensis.
They conclude that while the differences from Ceratosaurus nasicornis are the most significant. Piveteausaurus divesensis is not confamilial whith Allosaurus fragilis but most similair to Eustreptospondylus oxoniensis, to which it had previously been referred (Walker, 1964).
