Genus - Typespecies
This is a medium-size theropod of uncertain affinities, known mainly from distinctive hind limb material.Collected in the 1980\\\\\\\"s by a field crew led by Jaime E. Powell for the Universidad Nacional de Tucemán, from the fluvial sandstones at the Salitral Ojo de Agua locality.
Etymology
\\\\\\\"Quilmes\\\\\\\" [city in Argentina] and Greek sauros = \\\\\\\"lizard\\\\\\\"

MCPA-PV-100, partial right femur, complete right tibia
Diagnosis of genus (as for the type species)
Medium-size; femur having strong, well-developed mdeiodistal crest; tibia having hook-shaped cnemial crest, lateral maleolus twice the size of medial; distal end asymmetrical. (Coria, 2001)
