Rileyasuchus formerly Rileya (for Henry Riley (1797-1848), English medical doctor and paleontologist) von Huene, 1902.
Renamed because it was preoccupied (Ashmead, 1888)
Type species Rileyasuchus bristolensis (von Huene, 1902). As the species name suggests, it comes from Bristol in England, possibly the same horizon that yielded the Thecondontosaurus antiquus type material. This genus is not a parasuchian as usually classified but a dinosaur (Hunt, 1994).
