Short-necked Sigilmassa lizard,was formerly known as Spinosaurus B. Known from some (very short) cervicals, dorsals, and caudals. Made the type of the new family Sigilmassasauridae. Posterior cervical centra and distal caudal vertebra.
Russel propossed Sigilmassasauridae for Sigilmassasaurus brevicollis and for a second specimen (spinosaurus sp.) that differs from the original material in proportions and is interpreted from comming from lower in the stratigraphic section of Grés rouges. Sereno et al. (1998) howevere considers Sigilmassasaurus a junior synonym of Carcharodontosaurus. (Holtz, Molnar, Currie, 2004)
