Etymology
Generic name: Tatanka is the Lakota name for the American Bison) \\\"Buffalo horn face\\\" | specific name in honour of Stan and Steve Sacrisonów the discoverers of the specimen.
Longrich (2011) noted that this animal could represent a dwarf Triceratops species or simply a Triceratops specimen with a developmental disorder which caused it to stop growing prematurely.
