Genus - Typespecies
Named for a neck vertebra (BMNH R181) resembling that of Coelurus and earlier identified as a species of Thecospondylus (Thecospondylus daviesi, Thecospondylus horneri) by Seeley. This specimen probaly was collected from the Lower Cretaceous Wessex Formation on the Isle of Wight. Naish and Martill , 2002, regarded this specimen as probably belonging to an oviraptorosaur .
