Wyomingraptor was discovered in the late Jurassic rocks of the Morrison Formation at the historic Como Bluff site in southern Wyoming. Dr. Robert Bakker supervized the excavation and the Tate crew prepared the bones.
Dr. Bakker has proposed the name Wyomingraptor for this new genus of allosaur.
