Yunnanosaurus huangi (Young, 1942) > Yunnanosaurus robustus (Young, 1951) Yunnanosaurus youngi (Lü, Li, Zhong, Azuma, Fujita, Dong & Ji Q. 2007)
More than 20 partial to complete skeltons, 2 skulls, juvenile to adult.
A bidepal / quadrupedal prosauropod with self-sharpening, spoon shaped teeth.
* Yunnasaurus seems to have developed a full set ot truly sauropod-type teeth; they are in fact strikingly similar to those of the gigant sauropod Brachiosaurus both in their shape and way they ar worn down. If only teeth had been found, they would almost certainly have been classified as belonging, to an early sauropod dinosaur. However, the skeleton of Yunnanosaurus is quite typical of that of an anchisaurid prosauropod.
