Shantungosaurus giganteus (Hu, 1973) > Zhuchengosaurus maximus (Zhao, Li, Han, Zhao, Liu, F., Li. & Fang 2007)
The specimen is a skeleton assembled by parts collected from several individuals of the same species. With a height of 9.1 meter and a length of 16,6 meter it was the tallest among the ornithopods. It had small forelimbs and tough hind legs and its sacra were formed by six cones.
Ji, Y., Wang, X., Liu, Y. & Ji, Q. (2011) On the basis of the taphonomy, ostreological anatomy and ontogenetic veriation, Zhunchengosaurus maximus Zhao et al., 2007 is considered to be synonymic with Shantungosaurus giganteus Hu, 1973 herein.
