New generic name for \\\"Apatosaurus\\\" yahnahpin Filla and Redman, 1994.This sauropod possessed indisbutable gastralia. \\\'belly ribs\\\' A particularly well preserved scapula was also found. This species may represent a new, primitive genus of diplodocid.
Bakker considers Eobrontosaurus an apatosaurine diplodocid, and the sister taxon to a Brontosaurus-Apatosaurus clade. This sauropod possessed indisbutable gastralia. \\\'belly ribs\\\' A particularly well preserved scapula was also found.
