Describer
Ginsburg, 1964
Time
Jurassic Early Sinemurian Pliensbachian
Classification
Ornithischia Nomina Dubia
Diet
Herbivore
Fossilsite
Upper Elliot Formation, Mafeteng District, Lesotho; Basutoland, South Africa
Length
1 meter
Info
Genus - Typespecies
Fragmentary dentary with teeth. It is possible that the fossil bones named Lesothosaurus in 1978 are actually the same as those of Fabrosaurus (\\\"Fabre\\\'s lizard\\\"), named in 1964 from a worn piece of lower jaw.
Although there is very little fossil evidence to allow an accurate comparison between the Fabrosaurus find and the later one, there are many authorities who are reasonably satisfied that the two creatures are the same animal.
