Avetheropoda
Avetheropoda was formaly defined in the phylogenetic system by Holtz (1994; following use of the name by Paul,1988) as the node whitin Tetanurae comprising the stem groups Coelurosauria and Carnosauria as redifined by Gauthier (1986). This node appears to be the same as [Neotetanurae] (Sereno et al., 1994) which is a junior synonym of Avetheropoda by priority of publication.
