Eurodino Museum Project

Eurodino Museum Project born during the first Symposium on European Dinosaur in Düsseldorf, Germany (March 2000) presented by myself, with the enthusiastic support of other European palaeontologists. Latter I contact Fred Bervoets (after his success with the DinoData website) to host EuroDinos Database Project and slowly the idea growth and became real.

It was thought as a tool for European palaeontologists, useful to all professional and amateur palaeontologist that need to compare dinosaur bones to their studies. That is a database where we can know where are the originals or casts of each dinosaur in each museum in Europe.

For example, we do not need to go to Argentina to see Carnotaurus. There is, at least, a complete cast in Madrid, other in Aathal (Zurich), and a skull in Munster (Germany). We do not need to go to USA to see a complete Allosaurus because there is many European museums with entire casts of it.

Another view is to know where are the holotypes, which sometimes are in obscure museums somewhere in Europe. This is a project made for palaeontologist and by palaeontologist in a complete altruist perspective. You are encouraged to participate send your data about dinosaurs in display in European Museums.
