Rhamphorhynchoidae

Primitive forms, small the medium sized, heads 50% of total body length, large teeth and stiffened tails some of them consisted ou of more than 40 vertebrates. The tails were possible used for stearing in the air but could also have served as contraweight for the big heads. Timeperiod: Late Triassic to Late Jurassic.
