Docodon (Marsh,1881) > Docodon victor [type species] (Marsch, 1880) > Docodon affinis (Marsh, 1887) > Docodon crassus (Marsh, 1887) > Docodon striatus (Marsh, 1881) Docodon superus (Simpson, 1929) > Docodon sp.
Docodon differs from Simpsonodon in having upper molars strongly constricted in the middle of the width, giving the tooth a figure-eight-shaped appearance rather than being rectangular.
D.affinis is represented only by the lower dentition.
