INFO
Gobiotheriodon infinitus (Trofimov, 1997 ) > Gobiodon infinitus (Trofimov, 1980 )
Type species by monotype. First mentioned but not described as Gobiodon infinitus by Belyaeva et al., 1974 Gobiodon infinitus remained a Nomen Nudum until is was formaly described by Trofimov, 1980. The name Gobiodon however was preoccupied by a genus of osteichthyan so Trofimov transfered this species to the new genus Gobiotheriodon.
The holotype of G. infinitus consists of a nearly complete horizontal ramus of a dentary bearing the last three molars and alveoli for preceding teeth.
