Differs from other Mesozoic mammals including docodontans in that the lower molars decrease in length and notably increase in width posteriorly.
The Los Alamitos specimen was originally described (by Bonaparte, 1990) as an upper molar of dryolestid affinities. A second specimen described (by Pascual et al., 2000) from the Colonia Formation was represented by a dentary fragment with three worn teeth.
