Z. quinquecupidens is the most completely known of all \"Symmetrodontans\" the holotype includes the dentition and much of the skull and skeleton (Hu, et al., 1997, 1998). Zhangheotherium possibly represents the sister taxon to all other Spalacotheriidae (Cifelli & Madsen, 1999)
